Insurance & Payment
Insurance Information
Rockville Psychological Services is an out-of-network provider and does not accept any insurance. Many insurance policies will provide coverage pursuant to the terms of your insurance policy, but you should consult with your insurance company and their policy terms. In order to determine if your insurance company provides reimbursement, contact your insurer directly. Although we do not bill your insurance directly, we are happy to provide you with a Superbill if you choose to submit to your insurance for reimbursement. A Superbill is an itemized form with all the information your insurance needs for an out-of-network healthcare claim.
Service Fees & Payment Information
Fees for Payment are accepted in the form of cash, check, or credit card and is expected at the time services are rendered. Please note that we charge a $5 credit card fee per transaction.
*Patients are responsible for full payment at the time of service.
Questions to Ask your Insurance Carrier:
It is important to ask your insurance about your out-of-network coverage before you begin sessions. Some important questions you may want to ask are:
-
What are my out-of-network benefits for seeing a licensed psychologist for outpatient care? Important codes to ask about are initial diagnostic evaluation (CPT 90791) and individual 45 minute therapy sessions (CPT 90834)
-
Do any CPT codes require pre-authorization?
-
What percentage of the cost is covered?
-
Do I have a deductible for mental health services, and if so, how much?
-
Is there a limit on the number of sessions I can have per year?
-
What forms do I need to submit to qualify for reimbursement?
What is the No Surprises Act?

If desired, your healthcare provider can give you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

To determine the total fee for psychological services with our practice, please refer to the Rockville Psychological Services Client Services Agreement. If you have any questions about RPS fees or billing policies, please address these directly with your provider.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-877-696-6775.

The No Surprises Act provides patients with protection from surprise medical bills under certain circumstances.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of their bill for medical items and services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
